Ghaziabad Police Brings Holy Ganga Water from Har Ki Pauri for Devotees Ahead of Kanwar Yatra

Ghaziabad | July 9, 2025:
In a unique and sensitive initiative to uphold the religious sentiments of devotees, Ghaziabad Police has brought holy Ganga water (Ganga Jal) from Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar, and is distributing it across all police stations in the district.
With the Kanwar Yatra 2025 set to begin on July 11, Ghaziabad is expected to witness a massive flow of lakhs of Kanwariyas (devotees) on foot, passing through the city en route to Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan. The police initiative is aimed at ensuring seamless support to the pilgrims and respecting their religious devotion.
In the event of an accident, mishap, or if a Kanwar (the sacred pot of water carried by the devotees) gets damaged or spilled, the police will immediately provide Ganga Jal to the affected Kanwariyas. This step will not only offer logistical support but also help preserve the sanctity of the pilgrimage.

Police Commissionerate officials confirmed that special arrangements have been made to store and manage the holy water in every police station. Officers and personnel have been sensitized and briefed on how to assist devotees during their journey.
“This initiative is a gesture of respect and service towards the Kanwar Yatra and its spiritual importance,” a senior officer said. “We want to ensure that no devotee faces any hardship during their sacred journey.”
The Ghaziabad Police has also strengthened security measures, traffic management, and emergency response systems to make the Kanwar Yatra safe and peaceful for all.
This thoughtful step has drawn appreciation from local communities and religious groups alike, highlighting the importance of compassionate policing during large-scale spiritual events.
