Ghaziabad: The fourth Senior Boys and Girls State-Level Tennis Volleyball Championship concluded with a grand closing ceremony, highlighting Ghaziabad’s impressive win in the girls’ division. The event was graced by Chief Guest Ashok Yadav, the first Gold Medalist player from CCS University, who has previously captained Kho-Kho and Wrestling teams. Abha Sharma from KDB School served as the special guest, while Dilip Singh from Rae Bareli led the event as Coordinator. The judging panel included referees Baboolal Thapa, Ashok Nagar, Kuldeep, Devendra, Mansi, and Mohammad Owais.

In the fiercely contested girls’ category, Ghaziabad’s team emerged as champions, while Saharanpur and Varanasi secured second and third places, respectively. For the boys’ division, Ghazipur claimed the top spot, followed by Baghpat in second place and Ghaziabad in third. Despite limited availability of transportation, with many players unable to secure train or bus reservations, the tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 14 districts, showcasing the talent of young athletes statewide.

The standout players from this championship are set to represent Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming National Tennis Volleyball Tournament in Bengaluru, scheduled for November 22. Additionally, another state-level competition for sub-junior and junior categories will be held in Ghazipur on November 15, where selected athletes will move on to represent the state at the national level.

The closing ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Principal KV Singh, SAI Coach Jugesh Verma, National Referee Naresh Chaudhary, SAI Instructor Bhushan, Naseer Ahmed, and Mangal Singh. Their presence and encouragement were invaluable in making this championship a memorable event for all participants and spectators alike.
