Gagan Vats’ Century Powers Carpediem India to Victory in BR Sharma Champion Trophy Cricket Tournament

Ghaziabad, April 22: In a nail-biting final at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Ghaziabad, Carpediem India clinched the Corpidiem BR Sharma Champion Trophy Cricket Tournament title with a thrilling one-wicket victory over Ravindra York Cricket Academy. The star of the show was Delhi Ranji Trophy player Gagan Vats, whose explosive century steered his team to a dramatic win.
Vats smashed 109 runs off just 71 balls, hammering 13 fours and 6 sixes, earning him the Man of the Match award. Supporting performances came from Ritik Vats (60), Captain Ankit Tripathi (46), and Yug Gupta (37*), guiding Carpediem India to 315/9 in 39 overs.
With the bat, Ravindra York Cricket Academy put up a solid fight, ending their innings at 311/9 in 40 overs. Their innings was anchored by an outstanding unbeaten knock of 157 off 93 balls by Ayush Dosoja, who rightfully earned the Fighter of the Match title. He was ably supported by Mohan Pawar, who scored a quickfire 43.
On the bowling front, Vishal Chaudhary delivered a game-changing spell, taking 4 wickets for 28 runs, turning the tide in Carpediem’s favour during the tense final overs.
The tournament’s award ceremony was graced by esteemed guests including Shri Sunder Shyam Doseja, Vikramjeet Singh, and Amit Verma.
