False Accusation Case: Woman Arrested in Ghaziabad for Fabricating Rape Allegation to Extort Money

Ghaziabad : In a significant development, a woman has been arrested by the Madhuban Bapudham police in Ghaziabad for filing a false FIR and fabricating allegations of sexual assault and blackmail with the intent to extort money. The case, which initially shocked the local community, has now been revealed to be entirely baseless following a thorough investigation.
The case was originally registered on May 8, 2025, under FIR No. 160/2025, with charges filed under sections 70(1)/351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complainant alleged that she had been drugged and raped by a man named Vineet Garg and some unidentified individuals. She also claimed that her nude photos and videos were taken and used to blackmail her.
According to the woman, on May 5, 2025, she was lured by Vineet Garg to a location near Pahalwan Dhaba, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted and later abandoned in the Madhuban Bapudham forest area.
However, during the investigation, the police found several inconsistencies in the victim’s statements. A team was constituted to verify her claims through forensic analysis, medical examination, and electronic surveillance.
Key Findings:
- Medical Report: The medical examination revealed no external or internal injuries, nor any evidence of forced assault.
- CCTV Footage: Surveillance footage showed the woman arriving and eating alone at the dhaba on the night of the alleged assault. No one was seen accompanying or coercing her.
- Mobile Location Data: The call detail records (CDR) and location data of both the woman and the accused showed that they were not at the same location at the time of the alleged incident.
- Judicial Statement: Her statements under Section 183 of the BNS, made before the magistrate, contradicted her original account.
Based on these findings, the police concluded that the FIR was fabricated with the intention of framing the accused and extorting money. As a result, Section 231 of the BNS (related to giving false evidence and fabricating false charges) was added to the case, and the woman was arrested on May 13, 2025.
“The woman has been arrested for knowingly lodging a false case with fabricated evidence. Her intent was to falsely implicate the accused for personal and financial gain. The law will take its course,” said a senior officer from the Madhuban Bapudham police.
