Elevator Mishap in Ghaziabad’s Prateek Grand Society: Mother and Son Stuck, CCTV Footage Emerges
Lift Descends From 8th Floor to Basement, Raises Safety Concerns
Ghaziabad: In a concerning incident, an elevator in Prateek Grand Society in Siddharth Vihar malfunctioned, trapping a mother and her son. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident has revealed the harrowing ordeal.
The incident occurred late at night around 10:12 PM, a resident of Tower P6, Flat 1601, Gurpreet Kaur and her son, Nimit Sharma, got stuck in the building’s elevator. The lift unexpectedly descended from the 8th floor to Level 2 and then abruptly ascended to the steel floor. The family claims that the lift’s intercom and alarm system did not function, and they had to exit the elevator on their own.
Concerned about their safety, the family filed a complaint with the Vijaynagar Police, who have begun an investigation into the matter. They also informed the estate manager, the VP admin, and the elevator maintenance team last night.
Residents of the Prateek Grand Society have raised concerns about the maintenance and safety of the elevators, emphasizing the need for proper certification to ensure the safety of all residents.
