Ghaziabad : The prestigious DPSG Cup 2025 commenced with immense fervor and excitement on Tuesday at DPSG Meerut Road, bringing together over 400 young athletes from 20 schools across the NCR for a celebration of sports, spirit, and teamwork.

The grand opening ceremony was graced by Rohit Pathak, Chairman of DPSG Vasundhara and DPSG International, as the Chief Guest, who officially declared the tournament open. In his inspiring address, Pathak emphasized the role of sports in shaping character and instilling leadership in students. “Sports are the foundation of discipline, resilience, and teamwork — qualities that mold young learners into future leaders,” he said.

Joining him was Guest of Honour Girish Vir, Director of HR, who expressed his admiration for the dedication and energy displayed by the young athletes. He remarked, “The DPSG Cup is not just a competition; it’s a journey of learning and growing together. Every student here is a winner for showing up and giving their best.”

Adding a touch of sporting wisdom, Vishwajeet Singh, former Ranji Trophy player and cricket selector, encouraged the participants to embrace the spirit of healthy competition. “Quick decision-making, unity, and focus – these are lessons from sports that apply to every aspect of life,” he noted.

Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, participants, and supporters, describing the tournament as “a celebration of youth, talent, and teamwork.” He underscored the event’s role in fostering holistic development, where academics and sports go hand in hand to build resilient, well-rounded individuals.

The opening ceremony featured vibrant performances and an enthusiastic march past by participating schools, setting the tone for days of spirited contests across cricket, chess, lawn tennis, athletics, and gun shooting.

The DPSG Cup 2025 stands as a shining example of how institutions can nurture not only intellectual brilliance but also physical vigor and emotional resilience – preparing students not just for exams, but for life.
