Dog Lovers Rally in Raj Nagar Extension to Protest Court Orders

Ghaziabad: Residents of Raj Nagar Extension are gearing up for a rally organized by the Dog Lovers Group in response to the recent court orders that have stirred concerns among pet owners. Scheduled for August 18 at 3:00 PM, the rally will commence in front of River Heights Society and is expected to draw a significant number of participants who wish to voice their dissent. The organizers have stated that the purpose of the rally is to send a strong and unified message that dog owners and animal lovers will continue to fight for the rights and safety of their pets. According to the group, the court orders have created anxiety in the community, and this collective demonstration is intended to highlight their resolve and solidarity.
The organizers—Honey, Rita, and Shraddha—have reached out to residents and dog lovers across the area, urging them to actively participate and make the movement stronger. They emphasize that the safety and well-being of dogs should remain a priority and that standing together is essential to safeguard these rights. For them, beyond being an act of protest, the rally is also a statement of compassion and responsibility toward animals who often rely on humans for care and protection.
However, there is also a counterview among residents who believe that the rising number of stray dogs poses a serious safety concern. Highlighting this perspective, Deepanshu Mittal, a resident of Raj Nagar Extension, expressed on a social media group, “बहुत ही दुःखद 😢 गाजियाबाद के कविनगर में तैनात महिला दरोगा रिचा सचान की सड़क हादसे में देर रात मौत।
This tragic incident of Kavi Nagar police station’s woman sub-inspector Richa Sachan losing her life after an accident caused by a stray dog has intensified the debate. On one hand, dog lovers demand compassion and legal protection for strays, while on the other, residents highlight the urgent need for municipal action to prevent accidents and ensure public safety. The rally thus not only represents the sentiments of pet owners but also underscores the widening gap between the concerns of animal rights activists and the fears of common citizens grappling with real-life consequences.
