DJ’s Loud Music Disrupts Peace, Causes Migraine Attack in Elderly Woman

Ghaziabad : A wedding procession with blaring DJ music disrupted the peace in Vijay Nagar Sector-9 late Saturday night, leaving the neighborhood shaken and an elderly woman in severe distress. The loud music caused the windows of nearby houses to vibrate, with one family’s windowpanes cracking under the strain. The deafening noise triggered a severe migraine attack in a 70-year-old woman, forcing her family to rush her to a doctor.
Complaint Filed with Police
The victim’s daughter, Pratibha, lodged a formal complaint at Vijay Nagar Police Station. She provided video evidence showing the windows vibrating due to the loud music. “Around 11 PM, the DJ’s music was so loud that it caused our window glass to crack. My mother, who suffers from migraines, was jolted awake. Her pain was unbearable; she cried all night and couldn’t sleep,” said Pratibha in her complaint.
The affected family reported that similar disruptions frequently occur due to a nearby banquet hall. “Wedding processions and loud DJs are common here, causing repeated disturbances. Despite several complaints to the police in the past, no action was taken until now,” Pratibha added.
Police Action Ensues
In response to the complaint, Vijay Nagar police registered an FIR and promptly arrested the DJ operator responsible for the noise. A police official assured that strict action would be taken against those flouting noise pollution norms. “We are committed to ensuring that such incidents do not recur. Anyone disrupting public peace will face severe consequences,” said the officer.
Recurring Problem for Residents
Residents of Sector-9 have long struggled with the nuisance caused by loud wedding processions. Many shared similar stories of sleepless nights and health problems due to the blaring music. “This isn’t just about one night. It’s a recurring issue. Our complaints are ignored until things escalate to this level,” said another resident, expressing relief that action was finally taken.
Public Awareness Needed
The incident has reignited discussions around noise pollution and its impact on public health. Doctors emphasize that exposure to loud noise can trigger migraines, stress, and long-term health issues. Environmental activists urge stricter enforcement of noise pollution laws, especially near residential areas.
What’s Next?
The police assured residents that they would monitor the banquet hall and nearby processions more closely. The incident serves as a wake-up call to balance celebrations with respect for community well-being. For now, the residents of Vijay Nagar hope this marks the beginning of a more peaceful neighborhood.
