Delhi Police Released Rakesh Tikait After Several Hours

Ghaziabad : Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), was arrested at the Ghazipur border in Delhi. However, after sitting in the police station for several hours, he was released. On the other hand, after the arrest of Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait, all BKU workers were asked to remain alert till further orders. A large number of BKU workers reached the Bhorakalan police station in Muzaffarnagar and surrounded the police station. In Chhapar police station also the workers came to protest.

According to the information, the national spokesperson of BKU, Rakesh Tikait was arrested at the Ghazipur border in Delhi this afternoon. He was kept in the police station by the police. At the same time, anger spread among BKU workers in western UP. Told that the workers were not allowed to contact him. Along with Rakesh Tikait, many other workers were also made to sit in the police station.

There was anger among the activists as soon as BKU spokesperson Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait was taken into custody by the Delhi Police. It was told that Rakesh Tikait was going on Jantar Mantar to join the dharna of the unemployed. During this time he was taken into custody.

Confirming this, BKU District President Yogesh Sharma in Muzaffarnagar said that the Delhi Police had caught Tikait, after which he was released. Whereas in western UP, all the workers were asked to be ready to follow any advance orders.

Earlier on Saturday, during the farmers’ dharna in Muzaffarnagar, UP, BKU national president Chaudhary Naresh Tikait said that the law and order situation in Lakhimpur has been disturbed. The guilty Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra alias Teni was neither removed nor arrested, while a reward was declared on Shrikant Tyagi. The family was tortured. Electricity is expensive in UP. Told the farmers that if someone installs a meter on a tubewell, then uproot it and send it to the power station.
