Cricket Fever at RKGIT & Management: Section-C Crowned Champions

Ghaziabad: Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology and Management (RKGIT & Management) witnessed an exciting day of cricket as first-year B.Tech students competed in a league-level cricket tournament. The event, held on campus, was organized and managed by second-year students who took charge of arrangements like commentary, DJ, umpiring, and logistics.

The tournament began with an enthusiastic toss between two teams, conducted by the institute’s Director, Dr. Rakesh Goel, marking the ceremonial start. Faculty members and staff cheered for the students, encouraging spirited gameplay throughout the event.

Each of the four sections of the first-year B.Tech students played two league matches, with each match consisting of six overs. Teams that won both their matches advanced directly to the finals. For the others, an eliminator match decided the finalist. The grand finale, played over ten overs, saw intense competition between the top teams.

Section-C emerged victorious, led by their captain, Aryan Tyagi, showcasing excellent teamwork and strategy. The winning team was awarded a trophy by the institute’s Chairman, Dinesh Goel, and Vice Chairman, Akshat Goel. The entire event radiated energy and enthusiasm, with students celebrating their spirit of sportsmanship.

The program concluded with congratulatory messages and best wishes from the Director, Dr. Rakesh Goel, who emphasized the importance of sports in overall development. Also present at the event were Dean Academics Dr. Manorama Sharma, Proctor Dr. Arun Kumar Pandey, and Sports Coordinator Ankit Sahu, along with other faculty members.

This cricket tournament not only highlighted the students’ sporting talent but also fostered camaraderie and teamwork, leaving everyone with cherished memories.
