Crackdown on Illegitimate Halal Certificates: Uttar Pradesh Government Bans Products

Ghaziabad: In a decisive move to curb the misuse of halal certifications, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued directives to ban products carrying such certificates. This decision comes in light of recent extensive raids conducted by the Food Department in various locations across Ghaziabad.

A relentless crackdown has been initiated, with nearly 20 locations in Ghaziabad witnessing large-scale raids. The affected areas include Kavi Nagar, Indirapuram, Khoda, Vijay Nagar, where legal action has been taken against five individuals so far. Several other locations are currently undergoing similar raids, with ongoing investigations expected to unveil more instances of misuse.

The authorities have expressed their commitment to ensuring the strict implementation of the ban on unauthorized halal certifications. This initiative aims to maintain the integrity of practices and protect consumers from misleading claims. Cases have been filed against those found guilty during the raids, sending a strong message against the unauthorized use of certifications in the state.

In the coming days, additional measures are anticipated to reinforce the regulatory framework and deter any attempts to exploit the halal certification system for fraudulent purposes. The Uttar Pradesh government’s decisive action reflects its dedication to upholding the standards of quality and authenticity in food products.
