Constable from Gautam Buddh Nagar Fatally Shot During Arrest Operation in Nahla Village

A tragic incident unfolded in Nahla village, under the jurisdiction of Masuri Police Station, when Constable Saurabh, a member of the Gautam Buddh Nagar police force, was shot during a police operation and later succumbed to his injuries.

According to official reports, a police team from Phase-3 Police Station, Gautam Buddh Nagar, had arrived in Nahla to apprehend a wanted criminal identified as Qadir, a resident of the same village. During the operation, Constable Saurabh sustained a gunshot wound under unclear but reportedly hostile circumstances. His team rushed him to Yashoda Hospital, where doctors unfortunately declared him dead on arrival.

The incident was promptly reported to Masuri Police Station. Sub-Inspector Sachin from Phase-3 station has submitted a formal complaint, based on which a case has been registered under relevant sections of law, and necessary legal proceedings are now underway.A full investigation is in progress, and police teams are actively working to establish the sequence of events and bring the accused to justice.

This incident has cast a somber shadow over the local law enforcement community, as tributes pour in for Constable Saurabh, remembered by his colleagues as a dedicated and courageous officer who laid down his life in the line of duty.

Masuri Operation Update: Wanted Criminal Kadir Arrested After Constable’s Killing in Ghaziabad

In a significant breakthrough, Ghaziabad Police have arrested Kadir, the wanted criminal accused of fatally shooting Constable Saurabh Singh during a raid in village Nahal, under Masuri Police Station limits.

The incident took place late on night, when a team of five policemen from Phase-3 Police Station, Gautam Buddh Nagar reached Nahal to arrest Kadir, against whom a case was already registered under several IPC sections, including 354, 452, and 506.

According to the FIR filed by Sub-Inspector Sachin Kumar, Kadir tried to flee upon spotting the police. When they pursued him to his residence, he opened fire with a country-made pistol. Constable Saurabh Singh was hit in the chest and later succumbed to his injuries at Yashoda Hospital.

Following the murder, a fresh FIR was registered under sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 147, 148, 149 (rioting), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation) and section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act at Masuri Police Station.

After a swift and coordinated manhunt, Kadir was arrested by Ghaziabad Police. His interrogation is underway, and further arrests of accomplices are likely.

“This is not just a crime against a police officer but an attack on the rule of law. We will ensure that the strongest possible legal action is taken,” said a senior police official.
