Congress Holds Grand “Thank You” Rally in Ghaziabad in Support of Rahul Gandhi’s Stand on Caste Census

Ghaziabad : A joint gathering of the District and Metropolitan Congress Committees was held today at the Congress Office, Company Bagh, Ghantaghar, Ghaziabad, to express heartfelt gratitude to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his unwavering efforts in pushing the central government towards conducting a nationwide caste-based census.

In a strong display of unity and purpose, Congress workers and leaders marched from Ghantaghar to Durga Bhabhi Chowk via Navyug Market, chanting slogans in support of social justice and caste enumeration. The foot march was part of a broader thank-you campaign recognizing Rahul Gandhi’s persistent advocacy over the past four years, which party leaders believe finally compelled the central government to consider the long-pending demand.

District Congress President Satish Sharma and Mahanagar Congress President Veer Singh Jatav, who led the march, emphasized the urgent need for the central government to announce a concrete date for the caste census and allocate necessary funds. They reiterated that the census must comprehensively cover Dalits, backward classes, Muslims, minorities, and other marginalized communities, ensuring true representation in policy and planning.

Addressing the crowd, party leaders hailed Rahul Gandhi as a “People’s Leader” whose bold vision and courage forced the Modi-led government to take notice of the ground realities. They stressed that a caste census is not just a statistical exercise, but a step toward restoring dignity, equity, and justice in governance.

Prominent figures in attendance included:

  • Former Minister Satish Sharma
  • Former State General Secretaries Bijendra Yadav and Dr. Sanjeev Sharma
  • State Secretary Pankaj Taijania
  • Women leaders Pooja Chadha and Lakshmi Verma
  • Former District President Vineet Tyagi
  • SC/ST Mahanagar President Ashish Premi
  • Media In-charge Ashutosh Gupta and Chand Diwakar

Also present were leaders from various minority and backward communities, including Salim Ahmed Saifi, Ali Hasan, Asif Saifi, and Mohammad Faheem Khan, alongside hundreds of Congress workers and supporters.

Despite the large turnout, organizers acknowledged the time constraints in listing every contributor but expressed sincere gratitude to all participants who made the event a success.

The rally concluded with a collective pledge to continue fighting for inclusive development, representation, and constitutional rights for every citizen, regardless of caste, class, or creed.
