City Forest Ghaziabad Set for a Grand Revamp: GDA Plans Modern Urban Eco-Tourism Hub

Ghaziabad, May 31 – In a significant step toward ecological revitalization and urban beautification, a high-level meeting was held at the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) auditorium, chaired by Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod, Commissioner of Meerut Division and Chairman of GDA. The meeting focused on the redevelopment of the City Forest Park, Ghaziabad, which suffered extensive damage during the devastating floods of 2023.
Consulting firm Ernst & Young (E&Y) delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining a visionary plan for the complete transformation of the park. The redevelopment proposal aims to turn the City Forest into a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly, and family-oriented urban forest that will also serve as a premier tourist destination in the Delhi-NCR region.
As per the proposal, the revamped park will feature ziplining, trekking trails, boating facilities, decorative lighting, and several other high-end amenities, making it a model urban forest. These features are designed not only to attract visitors but also to foster a deeper connection between citizens especially children and nature.
Commissioner Yashod, along with Vice Chairman Atul Vats, Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik, and other senior GDA officials, was present at the session and emphasized the importance of developing a clean, safe, and modern green environment for the public.
The GDA’s vision for the City Forest goes beyond just landscaping—it’s about creating an environmental and recreational asset that adds to the aesthetic value of the city while promoting sustainable urban tourism.
This ambitious project reflects GDA’s ongoing commitment to civic development and environmental harmony, ensuring Ghaziabad emerges not just as a residential hub but as a nature-centric getaway in the heart of NCR.
