Blackmailer Arrested: Nandgram Police Nab Accused for Extortion Using Explicit Videos

Ghaziabad: In a significant breakthrough, the Nandgram police apprehended Ajay Singh Adhikari, accused of extorting ₹8 lakh by threatening to release a woman’s explicit photos and videos on social media. Two mobile phones used in the crime were recovered during the operation near Chirjivi Vihar temple gate.

The Case Unfolds

On January 3, 2025, the complainant approached Nandgram Police Station with a harrowing account of being blackmailed. She reported that Ajay threatened to release explicit photos and videos of her and her husband to relatives and on social media, jeopardizing her husband’s safety. These threats forced her to part with ₹8 lakh over multiple transactions.

Taking immediate action, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. Utilizing local intelligence and tip-offs, the accused was apprehended within two days.

Interrogation Revelations

During questioning, Ajay admitted that he first met the complainant in 2021 while working at ICICI Bank. Their acquaintance turned into a friendship, during which he borrowed a hard disk from her. On recovering deleted data from the disk, Ajay found private photos and videos, which he used to blackmail her for money.

Ajay confessed to using the extorted funds for personal luxuries, including expensive clothing, gadgets, and leisure activities.

  • Arms Act violation
  • Extortion and blackmailing (PS Nandgram)

  • One iPhone 16 (Silver)

The Nandgram Police Team, led by local officers, swiftly executed the arrest and recovered the devices used in the crime. Legal proceedings are underway, and Ajay’s criminal history is being further examined.
