Architects Association Ghaziabad Announces Golden Jubilee Celebration “Udaan 2.0”

Ghaziabad : The Executive Committee of the Architects Association Ghaziabad held a press conference to announce its upcoming Golden Jubilee celebration, Udaan 2.0, scheduled for January 4-5, 2025. The event will take place at the Ramleela Ground, Kavi Nagar, Ghaziabad, and will center around the theme “How to Make Cities Inclusive, Safe, Resilient, and Sustainable.”

Major Announcements and Highlights:
Association President Architect Pooja Saraswat shared the organization’s vision for the event, emphasizing the critical role of architects in shaping sustainable urban spaces. Architect Himanshu Gupta, the association’s secretary, reminisced about the association’s journey from its inception on October 2, 1974, with just nine members, to its current strength of over 125 architects.

Architect Priyanka Srivastava, the treasurer, described Udaan 2.0 as a grand celebration of “Architecture, Art, and Music.” She revealed that the event will also host the Annual General Meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Architects Association, drawing approximately 300 architects from across the state.

Key Events and Activities:
Event Convenor Architect Sandeep Goyal provided a detailed overview of the activities planned:

  • Seminars and Panel Discussions led by renowned architects from across the country.
  • Competitions including drawing and sketching for school students.
  • Building Material Exhibition showcasing innovative materials for city residents.
  • Workshops for architecture students and children to inspire creativity.
  • Cultural Performances celebrating art, music, and architecture.

The event aims to engage citizens, industry experts, and students in meaningful conversations about the role of architecture in urban development and innovation.

The celebration is designed to educate the public about building materials, highlight the contributions of architects to urban development, and discuss ways to improve the city’s infrastructure.

Dignitaries in Attendance:
The press conference was attended by senior members of the association, including Architect Yogesh Chandra, Architect S.K. Gautam, Architect N.K. Sharma, Architect Arun Katiyar, and many more. Event Coordinator Architect Abhimanyu Awal and Media Head Architect Manoj Verma also addressed the media.

With an exciting lineup of events and participation from across Uttar Pradesh, Udaan 2.0 promises to be an enriching and entertaining celebration of architecture and its transformative role in society.
