All Educational Institutions in Ghaziabad to Remain Closed from July 17 to 23 Due to Kanwar Yatra

Order issued by District Magistrate Deepak Meena in view of safety and traffic arrangements
Ghaziabad : In view of the upcoming Shravan Kanwar Yatra 2025, District Magistrate Deepak Meena has issued orders to shut down all educational institutions across Ghaziabad from July 17 to July 23. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the massive influx of pilgrims, traffic congestion, and overall safety concerns during the week-long religious procession.

As per the directive, the closure will apply to:
- Primary and upper primary schools
- Intermediate colleges (all boards)
- Higher education institutions
- Madarsa Board-affiliated institutions
- Private and government schools of all boards

The order is aimed at avoiding inconvenience to students and staff and ensuring smooth passage for Kanwariyas, lakhs of whom are expected to pass through Ghaziabad en route to Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan from Haridwar.
Officials have also been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the closure, and parents have been advised not to send their wards to school during the specified period.
The administration, in coordination with police and civic bodies, is also undertaking extensive preparations to manage the Kanwar Yatra — including road closures, traffic diversions, deployment of security forces, and public facilities along the route.

This proactive step is expected to reduce potential risks and facilitate a peaceful and well-organized religious procession across the district.
