Wedding DJ Dispute Sparks Violence in Meerut, Several Injured

Meerut,: A wedding celebration in Meerut’s Rasoolpur village took an ugly turn on Sunday night, as a disagreement over playing DJ music escalated into a violent clash between two groups. The incident resulted in injuries to multiple individuals from both sides, including women.

The altercation reportedly originated from a dispute over the volume of music being played at the wedding reception. As the night progressed, tensions flared between members of two different communities, leading to a heated exchange of words and physical confrontation. The situation quickly spiraled out of control, with both sides resorting to throwing stones at each other. The clash intensified, causing injuries to several people caught in the crossfire. The commotion drew the attention of local residents, who attempted to intervene and calm the situation.

Given the sensitive nature of the conflict, involving different communities, the police were promptly alerted. CO Saurabh Singh and Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar Kamboj rushed to the scene along with forces from multiple police stations.

Upon their arrival, the police officers immediately intervened to quell the violence and restore peace. The injured individuals were taken to nearby hospitals for medical attention, while the wedding procession was safely escorted away from the volatile scene.

In connection with the incident, one of the parties involved has filed a complaint against 15 named individuals and eight unidentified persons, accusing them of involvement in the violence. To maintain law and order in the village, police personnel have been deployed in the vicinity to prevent any further disturbances and ensure the safety of the residents.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of resolving disagreements peacefully and avoiding resorting to violence. It is crucial for communities to come together, foster mutual understanding, and address issues through dialogue and compromise.
