Weather Whiplash: Uttar Pradesh Braces for Rain Amidst Sweltering Heat

Meerut: Amidst scorching heatwaves and blistering sunshine, Uttar Pradesh braces for yet another weather transition. The Meteorological Department has predicted the likelihood of showers accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas over the next two days, amidst the prevailing hot and gusty winds.

According to meteorological projections, a fresh Western Disturbance originating from the Himalayan region could impact the state from the night of April 2nd. Subsequently, another Western Disturbance is expected to affect the region from April 5th, potentially bringing rainfall and thunderstorms to certain parts of western Uttar Pradesh.

Today, Tuesday, the forecast suggests dry weather across Uttar Pradesh, with surface winds blowing at speeds ranging from 25-35 kilometers per hour in various locations. However, the IMD has not issued any specific warnings during this period. Meanwhile, for April 3rd, dry weather is anticipated across the state.

The weather is expected to undergo changes again from April 4th onwards. While eastern Uttar Pradesh is likely to remain dry, one or two places in western Uttar Pradesh may witness rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds. Meteorologists have also issued a warning for lightning and thunderstorms with occasional sky lightning in one or two places. Dry weather is predicted to return from April 6th onwards.

Over the next two days, areas including Noida, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Shamli, Moradabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Mathura, and Gautam Buddha Nagar may experience rainfall and thunderstorms at one or two locations, along with the possibility of strong winds. Meanwhile, temperatures across Uttar Pradesh are hovering between 34 to 40 degrees Celsius, with Kanpur recording the highest maximum temperature of 40.0 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.

As Uttar Pradesh gears up for these meteorological shifts, residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to stay safe during adverse weather conditions.
