Lucknow: The Minister of State for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Class Welfare (Independent Charge), Narendra Kashyap, has issued directives to establish coordination with the Department of Social Welfare to ensure timely disbursal of scholarships under the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for the backward class. Applications for marriage grants should be promptly examined by the relevant authorities in rural and urban areas to ensure that eligible individuals receive the funds on time.
In accordance with the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Minister of State for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Class Welfare (Independent Charge) held a departmental review meeting in his office chamber at the Vidhan Sabha on Monday. He conducted a detailed review of the schemes implemented for the backward class and persons with disabilities. He emphasized the need to provide timely benefits of the government’s welfare schemes to eligible individuals. The schemes for persons with disabilities should be widely publicized at the grassroots level. He sought information on ongoing construction projects from the officials and directed them to prioritize quality and complete the projects within the stipulated time frame. He instructed that the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Class Welfare should maintain good communication and interaction with the people as it is a department directly linked to them, ensuring that they can easily avail the benefits of government schemes.
The meeting was attended by Hemant Rao, Additional Chief Secretary for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Class Welfare, Vandana Verma, Director of Backward Class Welfare, and Ajit Kumar, Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, along with other officials.
