Traffic Awareness and Management Drive Organised in Meerut – DIG Kalanidhi Naithani Flags Off Awareness Rally

Meerut, November 8, 2025 : In a strong push toward improving traffic discipline and road safety, a comprehensive Traffic Management and Awareness Programme was organised at the Meerut Police Lines under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Meerut Range, Shri Kalanidhi Naithani.

The event was attended by District Magistrate Dr. V.K. Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Vipin Tada, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Superintendent of Police (Traffic), senior police and administrative officials, representatives of various organisations, and a large number of school students.

The programme began with a seminar on road safety and traffic rules, where officials discussed ways to ensure safer roads and responsible driving behaviour. Following the session, DIG Naithani flagged off an awareness rally to promote adherence to traffic regulations among citizens.

In his address, DIG Kalanidhi Naithani urged citizens to be responsible road users, emphasising that safety begins with awareness and discipline. He shared key road safety messages with the participants:

Follow all traffic rules
Always wear a BIS-certified helmet when riding a two-wheeler
Avoid overspeeding and wrong-lane driving
Never drive under the influence of alcohol
Do not use mobile phones while driving
Assist accident victims — every second counts

The DIG also praised the involvement of school children, noting that awareness at a young age can shape lifelong responsible driving habits.

The event concluded with a pledge ceremony where participants vowed to follow traffic rules and spread awareness about road safety in their communities.

The Meerut Traffic Department announced that similar initiatives would continue throughout Traffic Awareness Month, with focused drives on helmet enforcement, pedestrian safety, and emergency response training.
