Star-studded Roadshow in Meerut: Ram, Sita, and Laxman Campaign for BJP Candidate Arun Govil

Meerut: In a unique political spectacle, the streets of Meerut witnessed a grand roadshow featuring characters from the epic Ramayana in support of BJP candidate Arun Govil. The iconic actors portraying Sita and Laxman, Dipika Chikhlia and Sunil Lahri respectively, joined Govil to rally for votes ahead of the upcoming elections.

Arun Govil, known for his role as Lord Ram in the television series, has stepped into the political arena as the BJP’s hopeful candidate for the Meerut Lok Sabha constituency. To garner public support, Govil, along with Chikhlia and Lahri, embarked on a campaign trail through Meerut’s bustling streets.

Starting their journey from the Mansa Devi Temple at three in the afternoon, the roadshow traversed through various landmarks, including Kaliya Ghat, PNBB Bank Jagriti Vihar, Garh Road, Samrat Heavens, Phool Bagh Colony, Hans Chauraha, Sports Market, Indira Chowk, Bachha Park, and culminated near the BJP office at Abulane.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Arun Govil reiterated his commitment to the development of Meerut and pledged to fulfill the promises made to the electorate. He assured the residents of his dedication to their welfare and emphasized the importance of their participation in the electoral process.

Both Dipika Chikhlia and Sunil Lahri appealed to the voters to extend their support to Arun Govil on polling day. They urged the electorate to cast their votes in favor of the BJP symbol, the lotus, and ensure Govil’s victory by a significant margin.

Ramayana actor Sunil Lahri, who played Laxman, said – “(I appeal) that the voters show their love for Arun Govil by voting for him on election day. He has a lot of respect for the public here. Don’t think of him as a celebrity, he is a native of this place.”

Dipika Chikhlia, who played Sita, said on BJP candidate from Meerut Arun Govil. “I just want to say that the love that you are showing here, please show it on April 26 (voting day) also. Give your vote to lotus (BJP symbol) and make Arun Govil win with a huge margin.”

The presence of the beloved characters from Ramayana added a unique charm to the political campaign, drawing immense attention and enthusiasm from the locals. With the elections drawing closer, the roadshow served as a vibrant display of political fervor and cinematic nostalgia intertwined in the electoral landscape of Meerut.
