Gola Gokarnathis another famous Shiva temple in Uttar Pradesh

In Gola tehsil located in Lakhimpur Kheri district, there is the famous Lord Shiva’s city Gola Gokarnath, also known as Chhoti Kashi. Devotees come from far and wide to see Gola Gokarnath. It is believed that Ravana, the king of Lanka, came here with Lord Shiva in the golden age. Ravana was going to Lanka with Shiva, but in the middle of the way, he had to put God on the ground for a brief moment, after which he could not move the Bhole Baba from the ground, so Ravana pressed the Shivling with his thumb. This place became Gola Gokarnath and even today there is a thumb impression of Ravana on the Shivling.

Kedarnath Jyotirling , the famous Shiva temple of Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand is often called as Dev Bhumi. There are many ancient temples here. Kedarnath Dham, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is also in Uttarakhand. Kedarnath is said to be the home of Lord Shiva. Kedarnath temple is surrounded by hills on three sides. The snow mountain behind the temple gives a very beautiful view from among the rays of the sun.

Neelkanth Mahadev

There is a temple of Neelkanth Mahadev near the forest, 32 km from Rishikesh. According to the beliefs, thousands of years ago the gods and asuras churned the ocean to get the nectar. According to Hindu beliefs, thousands of years ago there was a churning of the oceans between the gods and the demons, craving for nectar. In this churning, poison came out, which Lord Shiva drank. This made his throat blue. Neelkanth Mahadev’s temple was established at the place where Bhole Baba had drank poison.
