Protest in Meerut Against Alleged Insult to Vice President, Rahul Gandhi Effigy Burnt
Bharatiya Janata Party Demonstrates Alongside, Accuses Congress of Repeated Constitutional Offenses
Meerut: In a charged protest against the alleged insult to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, the Meerut BJP organized a demonstration at the Collectorate, accompanied by the burning of an effigy of Rahul Gandhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), organised the protest condemning what they termed as an attack on democratic values.
Rajendra Agarwal, Member of Parliament, expressed his concern over what he perceives as a recurring pattern of disrespect toward constitutional positions by the Congress party. He highlighted the recent incident involving Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and mentioned the previous episode where President Draupadi Murmu faced a similar disrespect.
The demonstration was marked by fervent speeches from leaders accusing the other of undermining the sanctity of constitutional roles. The effigy burning, symbolizing dissent against Rahul Gandhi, aimed to convey the BJP’s strong opposition to what they see as repeated insults to constitutional figures.
The BJP has called for a reevaluation of political conduct and urged for a more respectful approach towards individuals holding constitutional positions.
