In a major crackdown on illegal activities, police in Meerut conducted raids on four spa centres and uncovered an alleged sex racket operating under the guise of wellness services. During the operation, 20 women and one male customer were detained, while four spa centre operators were also taken into custody.
According to police officials, the action was carried out following specific intelligence inputs indicating unlawful activities at the premises. Teams simultaneously raided the spa centres, where they reportedly found evidence of organized prostitution being run in violation of the law.
Police stated that the detained women are being questioned to ascertain their identities and circumstances, while the male customer was also taken into custody for questioning. The four spa operators are accused of facilitating and running the illegal racket. Legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant sections of law.
