National Nutrition Week 2024 Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Army Public School, Meerut

Meerut, 2nd September 2024 — In honor of National Nutrition Week, Army Public School, Meerut, hosted a series of engaging and educational activities to promote awareness about the importance of nutrition and healthy eating. This annual observance is dedicated to highlighting the benefits of a balanced diet and encouraging informed food choices across communities.

Interactive and Educational Activities:

The day’s activities were designed to move beyond the traditional academic curriculum, focusing on interactive learning and creative expression. Students from grades IX to XII participated in a Poster-Making Competition under the theme “Feeding Smart Right from the Start.” The competition, which involved students from four schools within the Hubs of Learning initiative and one school under Project Vidyanjali, showcased vibrant and thought-provoking posters. These artistic creations underscored the importance of adopting healthy eating habits from an early age and served as a platform for students to promote balanced diets and wellness in their communities.

For students in grades VI to VIII, the day featured a range of activities aimed at educating and engaging them on the topic of nutrition:

  • Special School Assembly: The day commenced with a special assembly where students delivered heartfelt poems and impactful speeches on the significance of National Nutrition Week. This gathering aimed to foster respect for teachers and instill awareness about the importance of proper nutrition.
  • Educational Video and Teachers’ Talk: Students watched an educational video about essential nutrients, followed by a talk by teachers on “The Importance of Nutrients.” This session provided valuable insights into the components of a balanced diet and the risks associated with poor nutrition.
  • Bookmark and Card Making: As part of the day’s activities, students created bookmarks with messages like “SAY NO TO JUNK FOOD” and made cards to express their gratitude towards their favorite teachers. These activities not only encouraged creativity but also reinforced the day’s message of healthy eating and appreciation for educators.
  • Poster Making: Students engaged in two poster-making activities. One focused on discouraging junk food consumption with the theme “SAY NO TO JUNK FOOD,” while the other emphasized the importance of a balanced diet.

Under the guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Reeta Gupta, the event was a resounding success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of teachers and students. The energy and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day underscored the commitment to spreading awareness about proper nutrition.

The celebrations were both educational and enjoyable, leaving a lasting impact on the students and contributing to the broader goals of National Nutrition Week. The event not only educated students about healthy eating but also encouraged them to carry these lessons into their daily lives.
