MLC Election 2022: BJP’s Dharmendra Bhardwaj From Meerut-Ghaziabad

The BJP candidate for MLC Elections, Dharmendra Bhardwaj filled his nomination today for Meerut-Ghaziabad seat.

Baghpat and Hapur are also included in this seat with total four districts. The party gave preference to Bhardwaj over many faces including former Ghaziabad Mayor Ashu Verma, Sudhan Rawat, Pankaj, Vimal Sharma. Earlier, his name had also surfaced as a claimant for the District Panchayat President, but could not get the ticket.

Dharmendra Bharadwaj, 46, is a resident of Ikdi village in Sardhana tehsil. Along with the chancellor of a university based in Roorkee, he is the chairman of many other educational institutions. Earlier he has contested the Meerut-Saharanpur Graduate Legislative Council election as an independent candidate in 2014, in which he got more than 22 thousand votes. He was defeated by veteran leader Hem Singh Pundir by just eight hundred votes.
