Meerut’s Partapur Metro station will be unique with two platforms and four tracks

Meerut: The Partapur Metro Station in Meerut will boast a distinctive design featuring two platforms and four railway tracks. It will exclusively cater to Meerut Metro trains for passenger services. The station’s platforms are specifically tailored to accommodate Meerut Metro trains consisting of three coaches each. The Namo Bharat train will traverse through the central track of this station.

The Partapur station, elevated in structure, spans approximately 75 meters in length, with a width of around 36 meters and a height reaching about 22 meters. Having now assumed its final form, the station is undergoing preparations for passenger services. Two entry-exit gates are currently under construction, along with ongoing installations of lifts and escalators to ensure accessibility for all passengers.

To enhance passenger convenience, parking facilities will be available near the entry and exit gates of the station. Furthermore, service lanes are under construction to facilitate smooth traffic flow, ensuring easy access for passengers commuting to and from the metro station.

The Partapur Metro station is structured across three levels: ground, concourse, and platform. Flooring work at the station is approaching completion, with technical rooms already prepared. Equipment installation is currently in progress, while efforts are underway to install the pre-fabricated station roof.

The commencement of metro train operations from Partapur will significantly ease travel for residents in the neighboring areas. For instance, a passenger from Partapur heading to Delhi can conveniently catch the NaMo Bharat train from Meerut South. With the advent of metro trains in Meerut, often dubbed the ‘Sports City’, residents in the vicinity will enjoy seamless and convenient access to the metropolitan areas of Delhi and Ghaziabad.

The first trainset of the Meerut Metro has recently arrived to the Duhai Depot from Savli, Gujarat. Presently, routine testing of the Meerut Metro train is in progress, paving the way for the imminent trial run. This milestone marks the first instance in the country where passengers will have access to both Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services in the same infrastructure. Remarkably, both these trains will operate seamlessly on the shared infrastructure, promising integrated and efficient transportation for commuters.

The Meerut Metro will be operational on the 23 kilometer section from Meerut South to Modipuram Depot, for which a total of 13 stations are being built. These include Meerut South, Partapur, Rithani, Shatabdi Nagar, Brahmpuri, Meerut Central, Bhainsali, Begumpul, MES Colony, Daurli, Meerut North, Modipuram, and Modipuram Depot. The NCRTC aims to operate the Namo Bharat RRTS and Meerut Metro between Delhi and Meerut by June 2025.
