Meerut | April 25, 2025

In a powerful show of solidarity and collective grief, students of Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial (LLRM) Medical College, Meerut, organized a candlelight march in protest against the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where several innocent civilians tragically lost their lives.

The march, held within the college campus, saw participation from students across various courses, along with faculty members, senior and junior residents, nursing and paramedical staff. The participants lit candles and observed a moment of silence in memory of the victims, conveying heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Chanting messages of peace and unity, the students strongly condemned the barbaric act of violence. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this heinous attack. We stand united against terrorism and advocate for peace and harmony,” said one of the student organizers.

Dr. R.C. Gupta, Principal of LLRM Medical College, addressed the gathering and stated, “We hope that through this candle march, we can send a strong message of unity against terrorism and take a step forward toward peace.”

The event concluded with a solemn appeal for communal harmony and a pledge by the medical community to stand against violence in all forms.

The candle march not only served as a tribute to the victims but also emerged as a symbol of youth-led civic responsibility in times of national mourning.
