Kathak Dancers from Shivangi Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Meerut, selected for Republic Day Celebrations.

Meerut : In a momentous occasion, Shivangi Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has been accorded the prestigious opportunity to showcase its top-tier Kathak dancers during the grand celebrations of India’s Republic Day. The theme for this significant milestone is “India – Mother of Democracy and Viksit Bharat.”

Selected by the North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the talented Kathak dancers from Shivangi Sangeet Mahavidyalaya are set to perform at the Kartavya Path in New Delhi on January 26th.

The ensemble of skilled dancers includes Ayushree Gupta, Vanshika Tyagi, Vandita, Gun Goyal, Charulata, Vishwangi Rastogi, Swasti Tyagi, Shreya Tyagi, and Jyoti Rawat. These performers have dedicatedly immersed themselves in month-long rehearsals in New Delhi since the end of December 2023 to ensure a stellar performance on the grand stage.

Shivangi Sangeet Mahavidyalaya takes immense pride in being the sole institution from Meerut chosen for this honorable opportunity. As the nation commemorates its 75th Republic Day, the Kathak dancers from Meerut are poised to add a touch of cultural brilliance to the festivities at Kartavya Path.
