Inaugural Match of Seth Dayanand Gupta Memorial Cricket Series Held at Victoria Park

Honourable Guests and Renowned Figures Attend the Match to Commemorate Late Seth Dayanand Gupta

Meerut: Today, Victoria Park Cricket Ground witnessed the inauguration of the Seth Dayanand Gupta Memorial Cricket Series. The match commenced at 2:00 PM, featuring two teams captained by State Minister Somendra Tomar from the Uttar Pradesh government and Professor Anurag Singh from Meerut College.

The cricket match holds special significance as it is played in memory of the late Seth Dayanand Gupta, the former President of the Meerut Zila Panchayat. The entire event is dedicated to his memory and pays tribute to his contributions.

Both teams consist of 11 players each, with State Minister Somendra Tomar leading one side and Professor Anurag Singh leading the other. The match is being played for a total of 16 overs, with the aim of celebrating the life and contributions of Seth Dayanand Gupta.

The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including MLA Dr. Jai Veer Singh, Dr. Vishnu Goyal, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Dr. Vinod Arya, and various professors and staff members from Meerut College. Additionally, prominent figures from the political arena, Ajay Agrawal and former President of Meerut College’s Management Committee, Dr. Ramkumar Gupta, were present to grace the occasion.

The opening ceremony of the match was conducted by State Minister Sumit Tomar and MLA Dr. Sarojini Agrawal. The ceremony was attended by a multitude of esteemed guests, including BJP’s City President Suresh Chandra Jain and Dharmendra Bharadwaj.

The cricket match is not only a sporting event but also a noble cause, with the winning team set to receive an award in honor of Seth Dayanand Gupta. Advocates Prabhat Sharma, Dr. Harjinder Singh, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Punjab Singh Malik, and Dr. Yogesh Kumar are among the notable individuals present to support and witness the event.
