Ghaziabad to Get a Stunning Makeover: Mayor Approves ₹1.8 Crore for Decorative Poles and Green Belt Beautification

Ghaziabad. In a significant step towards enhancing the city’s aesthetics, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has approved a budget of ₹1.8 crore for the installation of decorative poles along the stretch from Thakur Dwara School to Hapur Chungi. This initiative, sanctioned by Mayor Sunita Dayal under the 15th Finance Commission, aims to beautify one of the city’s key roads.

A New Look for City Roads

The decorative poles will not only light up the area but also add a touch of elegance, transforming the entire stretch into a scenic route. Mayor Sunita Dayal emphasized the importance of this project, stating, “This road sees a lot of VIP movement and daily commutes by residents. Making it visually appealing will leave a positive impression on visitors and improve the city’s image.”

Beautification of Green Belts

In addition to the decorative poles, plans are in place for the beautification of the green belts along the city’s main roads. These green spaces will be transformed with a variety of flowering plants, animal statues, landscaped gardens, and improved lighting. This initiative aims to create a cleaner and more attractive urban environment.

Mayor Dayal added, “We want Ghaziabad to not only be a smart city but also a beautiful city. The green belt beautification project will make our city greener and more welcoming.”

Why Hapur Road?

Hapur Road, being a significant route with heavy traffic and VIP movements, was chosen for this makeover. The road also connects to the Collectorate, attracting visitors from outside the city. A facelift for this busy stretch is expected to enhance the overall experience for both residents and visitors, promoting a positive image of Ghaziabad.

What to Expect?

The beautification project will include:

  • Decorative Poles: To illuminate and enhance the road’s appearance.
  • Floral Gardens: A diverse range of flowers to add color to the green belts.
  • Animal Statues and Landscaping: For a more vibrant and engaging streetscape.
  • Improved Lighting: To ensure well-lit pathways, enhancing safety and beauty.

The Municipal Corporation, under the leadership of Mayor Sunita Dayal, has already laid out plans and aims to commence work soon. This initiative is part of a larger effort to transform Ghaziabad into a cleaner, greener, and more visually appealing city.
