The primary objective of the meeting was to equip the citizens of Ghaziabad with tools and knowledge to safeguard themselves against rising cybercrimes. A wide range of topics, including awareness campaigns, strengthening online reporting systems, and quick response mechanisms, were discussed during the session.
Several prominent members attended the meeting, including Sunil Vaidh, Harminder Singh, Mahesh Kumar Shivhare, Jaya Srivastava (Vaishali), Surendra Kumar Goel, Pradeep Singhania (Vasundhara), Santosh Kaushik (Shastri Nagar), Puneet Gupta (Chiranjiv Vihar), Manoj Agarwal (Raj Nagar Extension), Sunil Rajput and Pratibha Rajput (Shastri Nagar), and Rakesh Gupta (Indirapuram), among others.
The initiative focuses on spreading awareness among the residents about cyber frauds and guiding them to use the government’s cybercrime portal to report incidents. The meeting also emphasized collaborative efforts to identify and apprehend cybercriminals.
Empowering Citizens Against Cybercrime:
As cybercrimes grow more sophisticated, this initiative aims to educate citizens about potential threats and preventive measures. ADCP Crime Sachchidanand stressed the importance of community participation in creating a safe digital ecosystem for all.
Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities on the cybercrime portal, a user-friendly platform designed to combat online fraud. This step will help authorities track cybercriminals and ensure swift action.
Future Plans:
The team has committed to organizing workshops, distributing informative material, and conducting interactive sessions in residential areas to raise awareness about cyber fraud. Collaborative partnerships with local organizations and schools are also on the agenda.
With this proactive approach, Ghaziabad is set to lead the way in cybercrime prevention, ensuring a secure and fraud-free digital space for its citizens.
