Folk Singers Spread Voter Awareness Through Musical Campaign in Meerut

Meerut: In a unique initiative under the Voter Awareness Campaign, district election officer/DM Deepak Meena, along with nodal sweep chief development officer Nupur Goyal, directed Shahid Raza and his troupe of folk artists to spread awareness about voting through musical performances at various locations.

Today, Shahid Raza and his team took their campaign to the streets of Meerut, using the power of folk music to engage with citizens and encourage them to exercise their voting rights. Starting from Kailash Prakash Sports Stadium, they made stops at Police Line Chauraha, Lal Kurti Chhota Bazaar, Bada Bazaar, Saket Chauraha, Primary Health Centers, and Daffodil Public School, where they interacted with students and performed roadshows.

Through their melodious tunes and catchy lyrics, Raza and his team conveyed the message of the importance of voting, urging everyone above the age of 18 to participate in the electoral process. They emphasized the need to reach out to people in villages and cities alike, urging them not to hesitate but to fulfill their civic duty by casting their votes.

The folk singers used popular tunes like “Merath Ke Nar Nari, Matdan Tumhari” (Men and Women of Meerut, Voting is Yours) to connect with the masses and raise awareness about the upcoming elections. Their performances served as a vibrant reminder to the public about the significance of their vote in shaping the future of their community and the nation at large.

The collaborative effort between election officials and folk artists proved to be an effective way to engage with the public and instill a sense of responsibility towards democratic participation. As the musical campaign continues to resonate with the people of Meerut, it serves as a testament to the power of art and culture in driving social change and civic engagement.
