Meerut : In a heartwarming tradition, the District Magistrate (DM) Deepak Meena and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Vipin Tada showered flowers on Kanwar Yatra pilgrims from a helicopter in Meerut on Thursday. The joyous event saw thousands of Shiva devotees receiving a grand floral welcome from above.

The flower showering tradition, a significant aspect of the Kanwar Yatra, was carried out by DM Deepak Meena and SSP Dr. Vipin Tada who took off in a helicopter amidst the monsoon season. The flower petals rained down on the pilgrims along the Kanwar route, covering key locations including the Shri Aughadnath Temple, National Highway-58, Pallavpuram, and the Sivaya Toll Plaza.

The sight of flowers descending from the skies brought immense joy and excitement among the Kanwariyas (pilgrims). With their spirits lifted, the devotees chanted praises of Lord Shiva, creating an atmosphere of devotion and unity.

The floral welcome has become a beloved tradition in Meerut, symbolizing the city’s reverence and support for the Kanwar Yatra, one of the most significant pilgrimages for Shiva devotees.
