Deepak was murdered over illicit relationship, two arrested after victim’s severed head recovered

Meerut: In Meerut, two accused – Faimidu Nat and Aasif – have been arrested the murder of a youth whose decapitated body with missing head was recovered last month. Police claims illicit relationship of the deceased with accused’s daughter was the reason behind the murder. The investigation team also recovered the severed head of the victim, five days after his headless body was found in a sugarcane field. The murder weapon was also recovered by the investigation team.

Police said, “Deepak had an illicit relationship with Nargis, a young woman from the village’s Nat fraternity. The 20-year-old girl is married. She mostly lives in her maternal home. Earlier the girl used to ask for food and sell iron articles during that time. She used to go to the village, then she became friends with Deepak, after which both of them came close. Nargis’s father Faimidu had seen his daughter and Deepak talking. After which Faimidu along with his friend Asif planned to kill Deepak. When Deepak left the village, he killed him by beheading him with a sword in the forest.

It was on the morning of September 27 that the headless body of a young man was found in the Parikshitgarh area of Meerut. Based on a complaint by the victim’s family, the Meerut police registered a case against unidentified men and began investigation. “Deepak was murdered using a sword. His severed head was found at a place located around five kilometres away from the field where his body was recovered. The accused men carried out the crime with the intention that the investigating officers will not be able to identify the victim,” said SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan

SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan had formed 4 teams to unearth the murder. SP Dehat Keshav Kumar and SP Crime Anit Kumar were engaged in investigating the incident. The police have also detained a youth belonging to the Muslim community of Badhla village. Apart from this, 3 other youths were also taken into police custody and questioned. Police interrogation was conducted at SOG office. Later the police checked the call details of the mobile. On this basis, the police arrested Famidu and his friend Asif.
