DAV Mini Marathon 2024: A Run for Fitness, Unity, and Cleanliness

Meerut: On a bright and energetic morning, the DAV Mini Marathon 2024, organized by DAV CMC, brought together hundreds of students from DAV Centenary Public School Meerut, DAV Hapur, and DAV Pilkhuwa. The event, brimming with enthusiasm and spirit, was flagged off by the honorable State Minister Somendra Tomar and MLC Dharmendra Bhardwaj, who officially inaugurated the marathon with a green flag, signaling the start of an exciting day dedicated to fitness, sportsmanship, and community service.
The marathon saw participation from students in various categories, each pushing their limits and racing towards the finish line with determination. The event was not just about running—it also sent a strong message of social responsibility. NCC cadets, who had previously made significant contributions to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, took the opportunity to clean every corner of Kailash Stadium, symbolizing their deep commitment to the cleanliness drive. Their efforts resonated with the message that cleanliness is crucial for all citizens and that keeping the nation clean is the responsibility of every individual.

The marathon itself included several categories: a 2-kilometer race for junior boys and girls, a 5-kilometer race for senior boys, and a challenging 10-kilometer run for experienced runners.
The event highlighted the importance of community participation and how working together towards a common goal can bring people closer. Prizes were awarded to the top three finishers in each category, and to keep the excitement going, 10 consolation prizes were also given away through a lucky draw.
At the closing ceremony, ASP Traffic Meerut Raghvendra Kumar Mishra and MLA Amit Agarwal honored the winners by presenting medals and trophies. The dignitaries were thanked with shawls and mementos as a token of appreciation for their presence and support.
In the Junior Boys category, Divyansh claimed the first prize, followed by Divya and Sushant in second and third place, respectively. In the Junior Girls category, the winners were Sneha in first place, Mahi Sharma in second, and Udita Tyagi in third.
