Covid Cases In India: Corona’s Speed Increased Again, Government Alerted In View Of The Rising Infection Rate, Health Minister Mandaviya Will Review The Situation

According to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Wednesday, 12,249 cases have been found in the last 24 hours, less than 10 thousand cases were reported a day earlier. There have also been 13 deaths during this period. The number of active cases has increased to 81,687 which is 0.19 percent of the total cases. The daily infection rate has increased to 3.94 percent.

3260 new cases in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra also the cases remain stable. On Wednesday, 3260 new cases of the corona were registered in Maharashtra. With this, the number of active cases in the state has increased to 24639. At the same time, 1,648 new cases of the corona were registered in metropolitan Mumbai in the last 24 hours. There are 13,501 active cases of Covid-19 in Mumbai.

Cases decreased in Delhi but concern remains

On Wednesday, 928 new cases of the corona were reported in the national capital Delhi. The positivity rate in Delhi has come down from 7.22 percent to 7.08 percent. Not only this, active cases have come down from 5,595 to 5,054 on Wednesday. However, there has been a slight increase in the number of patients admitted to hospitals in Delhi. According to the report of news agency PTI, the number of infected people admitted to the hospital in Delhi has increased more than two times during a fortnight.

The infection rate increased in the country

The government has also become alert in view of the increased infection rate of corona in the country. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will review the situation in Corona in a high-level meeting on Friday. New cases of corona are increasing in the country for the last few days. The core team of the meeting includes Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, Dr. Balram Bhargava, Director General, ICMR, and Sujit Singh, Director, National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

Apart from these, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary in the Department of Biotechnology Rajesh S Gokhale, Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals . In view of the increasing cases, INSCAG held a review meeting last week and asked the states and union territories to send more samples for genome sequencing.

INSCAG is a consortium of central laboratories, which does genome sequencing of samples of corona-infected people so that detailed information can be gathered about it. According to INSCAG, the reason for the increase in cases is Omicron’s two sub-variants BA.2 and BA.2.38. Recently, the states were advised by INSCAG to submit samples for large-scale genome sequencing so that new variants or sub-variants can be identified in time for increasing infection.

recovery rate is getting low

At present, the weekly infection rate in the country is 2.90 percent. The recovery rate of patients is continuously decreasing and now it has come down to 98.60 percent, and the death rate remains at 1.21 percent. According to the data of the Covin portal, a total of 196.46 crore doses of the anti-corona vaccine have been administered so far. The first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 3.58 crore children in the age group of 12-14 years. At the same time, 90.83 crore people have also been fully immunized i.e. they have been given both doses.
