Comedian Sunil Pal’s Kidnapping Saga: Ransom Money Used to Buy Jewelry, Police Probe Deepens

Meerut: In a shocking turn of events, popular comedian Sunil Pal, kidnapped in Delhi on December 2, has revealed chilling details of his ordeal, while new CCTV footage has added a bizarre twist to the case. The kidnappers, who initially demanded ₹20 lakh ransom, negotiated the amount down to ₹8 lakh before releasing Pal. However, their audacious behavior post-crime is now under scrutiny.

CCTV Footage Exposes Lavish Spending

CCTV footage has surfaced, showing two men—believed to be the kidnappers—shopping for jewelry with the ransom money. The footage reveals purchases of ₹4 lakh worth of jewelry from a store in Sadar Bazar, Meerut, and another ₹2.25 lakh from a shop in the Lal Kurti area. Adding to the intrigue, the bills were made in Sunil Pal’s name, raising questions about the kidnappers’ motives and recklessness.

Police Action and Investigation

The Mumbai Police have swung into action, freezing the bank accounts of the jewelers involved in these transactions. Additionally, five to six suspects have been booked in connection with the kidnapping. Investigators are now analyzing the footage for leads, hoping to unravel the chain of events.

Pal’s wife had reported him missing on December 3, sparking a frantic search. He returned home the next day, revealing his harrowing 24-hour captivity.

Sunil Pal Recounts His Ordeal

Pal, while refusing police protection, shared distressing details of the kidnapping. “They took my phone and transferred all my data—contacts of my wife, family, and some celebrities. They threatened me, saying, ‘Don’t do anything foolish; we can harm you.’”

The comedian also described verbal abuse, physical assault, and threats of lethal injection. “They blindfolded me, but I could sense five to six heavy-built men around me. My wife is terrified; this is a serious criminal case,” Pal stated.

Jewelers File Complaints

Interestingly, the jewelers involved in the transactions have filed complaints after their bank accounts were frozen. The strange request for bills in Pal’s name has further complicated the case.

A Case with Many Twists

As the investigation continues, the case has captivated public attention, highlighting the boldness of the criminals and the challenges faced by law enforcement. With suspects under watch and evidence piling up, authorities are confident of cracking the case soon.

Sunil Pal, while shaken, remains hopeful for justice and the safety of his family as the case unfolds.
