Chief Minister Yogi Laid The Foundation Stone Of Four Wildlife Rescue Centers
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday laid the foundation stone for four wildlife rescue centers to be set up at Bahilpurwa (Chitrakoot) Forest Division, Hastinapur (Meerut) Forest Division, Gopalpur (Pilibhit) Tiger Reserve and Madhavaliya (Maharajganj).
An official statement issued here on Friday night said that the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of wildlife rescue centers while presiding over a meeting of the Uttar Pradesh State Wildlife Board held at his official residence at 5 Kalidas Marg here. Yogi emphasized on the occasion that the construction work of wildlife rescue centers should be done as per the standards in a time-bound manner with complete transparency in two years.
He said that the responsibility of construction work should be given to institutions with efficient, good working styles and good records. The Chief Minister said that Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary at Chitrakoot should be developed as a Tiger Reserve.
According to him, due to the Ken-Betwa link project, there will be a situation of waterlogging in Panna Tiger Reserve of Madhya Pradesh state, due to which the movement of tigers of Panna Tiger Reserve will be towards Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary located in Chitrakoot. Yogi said that this is a good opportunity to develop Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary near Uttar Pradesh as a Tiger Reserve.
While giving instructions to take necessary action for the development of Ranipur Tiger Reserve, he said that this would be the fourth Tiger Reserve of the state to be developed in an area of 630 square kilometers.
The Chief Minister said that through the Namami Gange project, tributaries including Ganga Ji are becoming uninterrupted and clean, as a result of which there has been a significant increase in the number of dolphins in Ganga Ji. He said that given this, an action plan should be prepared for the establishment of a ‘Dolphin Park’ in the state.
He said that night safari and state-of-the-art zoo are to be developed in the Kukrail forest area of Lucknow, together with the Forest, Urban Development, Housing and Public Works Department, its action plan should be prepared.
He said that this night safari will be the first night safari not only of the state but of the country. According to him, this night safari and the state-of-the-art zoo will provide an attractive destination for nature, wildlife lovers, and tourists of the country. He directed to take action in this regard on priority. On this occasion, Yogi also said that there is immense potential for eco-tourism in Uttar Pradesh.
These possibilities should be pursued systematically. Many officials and prominent people including the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Arun Kumar Saxena were present on the occasion.
