Central Command Inter-Cluster Debate Competition: A Showcase of Exceptional Oratory Skills

Meerut Cantt.: The Central Command Inter-Cluster English and Hindi Debate Competition, held on the 9th and 10th of August at the RAM Auditorium in Meerut Cantt., was a grand event that brought together the brightest minds from Army Public Schools (APS) across the country. Hosted by APS Meerut, the competition witnessed fierce intellectual battles as students showcased their debating prowess in both English and Hindi.

Day 1: English Debate Competition
The first day of the event featured the English Debate, which saw participation from various APS clusters. The topic for the debate, “The implementation of ‘One Nation, One Election’ will streamline India’s Electoral process,” sparked intense discussions and showcased the students’ critical thinking and public speaking skills.

Brigadier Nikhil Deshpande, Chairman of APS Meerut, inaugurated the event with a ceremonial lamp lighting. The debate was a display of eloquence, with APS Gorakhpur emerging as the overall winner, thanks to their outstanding teamwork and argumentative skills. APS Roorkee No. 1 secured the position of first runner-up.
Notable individual achievements included Nahar Singh Mann from APS Gorakhpur, who was awarded Best Speaker for the Motion. Akshat Chris Beig from APS Ranikhet was recognized as the Best Speaker Against the Motion, while Priya Prajapati from APS Gorakhpur was honoured as the Best Interjector.
Day 2: Hindi Debate Competition
The second day was dedicated to the Hindi Debate, with Major General Voodev Parida, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding Paschim UP Sub Area, gracing the event as the chief guest. The students showcased their command over Hindi, debating complex topics with ease.
APS Allahabad emerged victorious in the Hindi Debate, with APS Ranikhet securing the runner-up position. Sidhi Kumari from APS Gorakhpur was awarded Best Speaker for the Motion, while Shashwat Mishra from APS Allahabad was recognized as the Best Speaker Against the Motion. Vishnu Singh from APS Varanasi was honoured as the Best Interjector.

The Command Level Inter-Cluster Debate Competition at Army Public School Meerut was a resounding success under the able guidance of Principal, Dr (Mrs)Reeta Gupta and highlighted the exceptional oratory skills and intellectual capabilities of the students. The event concluded with a closing address by the Chief Guest, who praised the students for their exceptional performances and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in all their endeavours. The Command Level Inter-Cluster Debate Competition at APS Meerut was a resounding success, providing a platform for young debaters to shine and highlighting the value of healthy competition and mutual respect.
