BSP Candidate Devvrat Tyagi Files Nomination from Meerut-Hapur, Vows to Address Local Concerns
Meerut: Today marked a significant turn in the electoral landscape of Meerut-Hapur as Devvrat Tyagi, the candidate representing the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), filed his nomination papers, outlining his vision for the constituency.
After completing the formalities of nomination, Tyagi addressed the media, emphasizing his commitment to the welfare of the people. He dismissed any notion of rivalry, stating that his focus remains solely on fulfilling his responsibilities towards the electorate. Criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tyagi accused them of exploiting the name of Lord Ram for political gains, asserting that the portrayal of Ram in politics holds no relevance to the upcoming elections. He suggested watching Arun Govil’s movies to understand the point better.
A native of Meerut, Tyagi highlighted his multifaceted background, ranging from business to public service. He expressed familiarity with the issues plaguing the region, pledging to work towards creating employment opportunities for the youth and addressing the concerns of local businessmen and job seekers.
Tyagi questioned the authenticity of those who claim to be the bearers of Ram’s ideals, suggesting that if BJP wanted to field a candidate embodying the character of Ram, they should have chosen someone local instead of searching in Mumbai.
Additionally, Tyagi announced BSP supremo Mayawati’s plans to hold a campaign rally in Meerut on April 23. He stated that Mayawati would address election rallies across the state, rallying support for BSP candidates. Confident in BSP’s prospects, Tyagi projected the party to secure 30 seats in the state.
As the political landscape heats up in Meerut-Hapur, Tyagi’s nomination adds further intrigue to the electoral contest, promising a spirited battle for the parliamentary seat.
