Meerut, March 26, 2024: Arun Govil, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Meerut, kickstarted his election campaign today at the party headquarters in Meerut. With a fervent determination, he asserted that there were no challenges that couldn’t be overcome with honesty and dedication.
Govil, addressing reporters, stated, “When a person ventures out to do their work honestly, if you remain dedicated to them, you will undoubtedly succeed. I have come here to offer my love, compassion, and empathy to the people of Meerut.”
Responding to queries regarding his residence in Meerut, Govil replied emphatically, “I have never done anything in my life that would make people point fingers at me. I will not indulge in politics. I am incapable of what we define as politics. I am only here to offer what I possess – love, compassion, and empathy.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for contesting elections from Meerut, Govil remarked, “I am thrilled to be contesting from Meerut because it is where I was born and brought up. The announcement of my candidacy for Meerut has brought back old memories. I would love to reside here, meet people, and work for them.”
Thanking Narendra Modi and the selection committee for nominating him as the BJP candidate for Meerut, Govil said, “I will make every effort to live up to the trust and expectations of the BJP and the public.”
In line with the BJP’s announcement on Sunday, the fifth list of 111 candidates included prominent figures like Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from Sambalpur, former Union Minister Menaka Gandhi from Sultanpur, and former MP Navin Jindal from Kurukshetra.
The national spokesperson of the BJP, Sambit Patra, will also contest from Puri, Odisha, as announced by the party.
