Patna (NewsReach) : Setting an example of communal harmony in the country, a Muslim family from Bihar has donated land worth Rs 2.5 crore for the world’s largest Hindu temple – the Virat Ramayana Mandir – to be built in Kaithwalia area of East Champaran district of the state. .
Patna-based Mahavir Mandir Trust head Acharya Kishore Kunal told reporters on Monday that the land was donated by Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, a businessman from East Champaran living in Guwahati. Kunal, a former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, told reporters, He recently completed all the formalities related to the donation of land belonging to his family for temple construction at the registrar’s office of Kesaria sub-division (East Champaran).
Acharya said that this donation of Khan and his family is a great example of social harmony and brotherhood between the two communities. It would have been difficult to realize this ambitious project without the help of Muslims, he added. The Mahavir Mandir Trust has so far got 125 acres of land for the construction of this temple. The trust will soon get another 25 acres of land in the area.
The Virat Ramayana Temple is said to be taller than the world famous 12th century Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia, which is 215 feet high. The complex of East Champaran will have 18 temples with high peaks and its Shiva temple will have the world’s largest Shivling. The total construction cost is estimated to be around Rs 500 crore. The trust will soon take advice from experts engaged in the construction of the new Parliament building in New Delhi.
