Meerut: Army Public School Meerut proudly secured the 2nd position at the prestigious Inter-School Debate Competition hosted by St. Mary’s Academy on May 17, 2024. The event, held in the St. Mary’s Academy Auditorium, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 18 schools across the city, aimed at fostering critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork among students.
Each participating school was represented by a team of two debaters who tackled a variety of contemporary issues. The topic for this year’s competition was, “Space colonization is a futile pursuit until humanity deals with its challenges on earth,” prompting participants to explore and argue diverse perspectives.
The debate team from Army Public School, consisting of Ayush Tripathi (Grade 8) and Pratyusha Tiwari (Grade 7), delivered exceptional performances. Their journey to securing the 2nd position was marked by rigorous preparation, strategic argumentation, and exemplary teamwork. Despite the fierce competition, Ayush and Pratyusha presented compelling arguments, captivating both the judges and the audience.
Their mentors, Mrs. Shivani Parti and Mrs. Aahuti Jaiswal, played a crucial role in refining the team’s skills and strategies, providing invaluable guidance and support throughout the preparation process. The principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Reeta Gupta, congratulated the young achievers for showcasing their extraordinary talent and bringing pride to the school.
