Army Public School, Meerut Celebrates 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Zeal

Meerut, August 15, 2025 – Army Public School, Meerut marked the 79th Independence Day of India with grandeur, enthusiasm, and deep patriotic fervour under the theme “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring Future.” The occasion brought together students, staff, and eminent dignitaries in a celebration that blended tradition, culture, and a call to civic responsibility.
Flag Hoisting and Welcome Address
The celebrations began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by Brigadier Nikhil Deshpande, Deputy GOC, Pashchim UP Sub Area, followed by the resonating strains of the welcome song “Yeh Desh Meri Jaan Hai, Imaan Hai.” The Junior School Captain, Raavi Vaibhav Shingare, extended a heartfelt welcome to all present, underscoring the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and the significance of preserving India’s hard-earned independence.
Captivating Cultural Performances
The cultural programme showcased the school’s talent through a rich variety of performances.
- Foundational Stage students energised the audience with a spirited Qawwali, “Kaamyabi Kamaal Hai,” exuding joy and determination.
- Preparatory Stage students presented a vibrant medley, “Taaron Ko Chhoo Le Tiranga,” symbolising the aspirations and limitless potential of the young generation.
The graceful choreography, expressive performances, and coordinated movements created a visually stunning tribute to the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Brigadier Deshpande emphasised that citizens must balance their rights with responsibilities. He urged students to be committed to their duties towards the nation and highlighted the crucial role of teachers and parents in shaping conscientious citizens.

Dr. (Mrs.) Reeta Gupta, Principal of Army Public School, extended warm Independence Day greetings, thanking dignitaries, parents, and the school community for their support.
