Meerut: APS Primary Wing students paid tribute to the freedom fighters of India on Kranti Diwas, which was observed on 9th May 2023. The occasion was witnessed by the Principal Dr Mrs Reeta Gupta, Head Mistress Mrs Mamta Singh, and PW Coordinator Mrs Lalita Gaur.
The aim of the assembly was to enlighten the students about the sacrifice of the freedom fighters and the beginning of Kranti Diwas from Meerut on 10th May 1857. The students of Class 1 and 2 put up a wonderful show. A few students dressed up as the freedom fighters, including Rani Laxmi Bai, Jawahar Lal Nehru, and Chandrashekhar Azad. They delivered messages with full confidence and zeal, which left everyone in awe.
The show continued with a beautiful dance performance by Sara Mondal, which mesmerized everyone present. The whole programme was hosted by the Activity Incharge Ms. Manisha Rawat, under the guidance of the Head Mistress Ms. Mamta Singh.
At the end of the programme, Principal Dr Mrs Reeta Gupta appreciated the students for their wonderful tribute to the freedom fighters of India. She also highlighted the importance of the revolt of 1857 and its contribution to India’s Independence. She motivated the students to visit the important places that mark the beginning of this revolt.
Sweets were distributed to the students on this occasion, which brought a big smile on the faces of the kids. The programme was a success, and the students left with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the freedom fighters’ sacrifices.
Overall, the APS Primary Wing students’ tribute to the freedom fighters of India was a great initiative, and it is commendable that such young students are taking an active interest in their country’s history and culture. Their efforts will undoubtedly inspire many others to pay their respects to the freedom fighters of India.
