AAP Protests Against Amit Shah’s Remarks on Dr. Ambedkar in Meerut

Meerut : The controversy over Home Minister Amit Shah’s alleged remarks about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Parliament has sparked widespread protests across the nation. In Meerut, under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) District President Ankush Chaudhary, party officials and supporters gathered at Commissioner Park to stage a vociferous protest against the statement. The protestors also submitted a memorandum addressed to the Honorable President of India, demanding an apology from Amit Shah and his resignation.

“India Will Not Tolerate Disrespect to Dr. Ambedkar”

Ankush Chaudhary fiercely criticized the BJP and RSS, accusing them of harboring animosity towards Dr. Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution. “Dr. Ambedkar gave voting rights to Dalits, backward classes, and the marginalized. This is why BJP and RSS dislike him,” Chaudhary said.

He further stated, “The Home Minister must apologize for his derogatory remarks about the architect of the Constitution. Disrespecting Dr. Ambedkar is an insult to the entire nation. Amit Shah should step down from his position immediately.”

Dr. Ambedkar’s Legacy Highlighted

The protesters highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s pivotal role in drafting the Constitution, which upholds equality and justice for all citizens. “Baba Saheb envisioned a society where everyone is treated equally, regardless of caste or creed. His legacy is not just the pride of Dalits or backward classes but of the entire nation,” Chaudhary said during the protest.

The memorandum, signed by hundreds of supporters, emphasized that Shah’s comments had deeply hurt the sentiments of millions of Ambedkar’s followers and posed a threat to the values of equality and unity enshrined in the Constitution.

Call for Presidential Intervention

The AAP leaders urged the President to take strict action against Amit Shah for his comments. They demanded steps to protect the rights of marginalized communities and ensure that the contributions of national icons like Dr. Ambedkar are respected and upheld.

Massive Participation

The protest saw significant participation, with notable figures including District Patron S.K. Sharma, District General Secretary G.S. Rajvanshi, SC/ST Cell President Bhup Singh, Vikram Pal, Vinay Anand, Sachin Valmiki, Ankur Pal, District Media In-charge Harsh Vashistha, and many others lending their support.

Unity in Diversity

The gathering included individuals from various communities, symbolizing the unity that Dr. Ambedkar championed. Protestors held banners with slogans such as “Baba Saheb ka Apmaan, Nahi Sahega Hindustan” (India Will Not Tolerate Disrespect to Baba Saheb) and “Amit Shah, Apologize Now!”

The Road Ahead

As the protest concluded, Chaudhary warned of escalating demonstrations if their demands were not met. “We will not rest until justice is served. The Home Minister must apologize, and the government must reaffirm its commitment to upholding the ideals of the Constitution,” he declared.
