Woman Sub-Inspector Arrested Taking ₹45,000 Bribe at Ghaziabad Women Police Station

Ghaziabad.
In a major action against corruption within the police force, the Anti-Corruption team has arrested a woman sub-inspector posted at the Ghaziabad Women Police Station while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹45,000. The arrest was made at the reporting outpost of the Sahibabad Women Police Station.

According to official sources, the accused woman sub-inspector, Bhuvaneshwari, was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption team during a planned trap operation. She was allegedly demanding and accepting the bribe in connection with an official matter, following which the team moved in and arrested her on the spot.

The arrest has drawn significant attention as SI Bhuvaneshwari had earlier been part of a police team involved in what is known as the first encounter carried out by a woman police personnel in Uttar Pradesh. Her association with that high-profile operation had once brought her recognition within police circles.

After the arrest, Anti-Corruption officials initiated legal proceedings against the accused under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is underway to ascertain whether she was involved in similar activities earlier and to identify any possible links or accomplices.

Senior police officials have stated that corruption will not be tolerated at any level and that strict action will be taken against anyone found misusing their position of authority. The incident has once again raised questions about accountability and ethical conduct within law enforcement agencies.
