Over 3,000 Join ‘Pink Walk’ in Ghaziabad: Yashoda Hospital Spreads Breast Cancer Awareness

Ghaziabad : In a powerful display of community spirit and health awareness, Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital and Cancer Institute, Sanjay Nagar, organized a grand ‘Pink Walk’ on Sunday morning to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event saw the participation of more than 3,000 people, all united in spreading the message of early detection and women’s health awareness.

The walk began at 6 a.m. from GD Goenka Public School, Raj Nagar Extension, and concluded at Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital, Sanjay Nagar. The event kicked off with an energetic ‘Movement Medley’ performed by the hospital’s physiotherapy team, followed by a lively crowd of participants dressed in pink, symbolizing strength, hope, and awareness marching for the cause of breast cancer prevention.

The event concluded with a vibrant Bollywood Zumba session, infusing energy and positivity into the morning. Adding a social message, a street play was performed urging women to overcome fear and hesitation and to prioritize timely screening and self-examination for breast cancer.

Dr. Rajat Arora, Managing Director of Yashoda Hospitals, said,

“Yashoda is the first comprehensive Breast Care Centre in Western Uttar Pradesh. We provide not only advanced treatment but also emphasize early screening and diagnosis because awareness and timely detection can save lives.”

Breast Onco-Surgeon Dr. (Surg. Lt. Commander) Anushree Vartak highlighted the importance of regular check-ups, stating,

“Every sixth death caused by cancer in women globally is due to breast cancer. It’s vital that women above 40 undergo annual mammograms.”

Dr. Shashi Arora, Vice President of Yashoda Group, announced that special discounted mammography coupons are being offered throughout October to encourage more women to come forward for screening.

Chief Operating Officer Ajay Chaudhary added,

“The objective of the Pink Walk is to raise awareness and dispel myths around breast cancer. It’s not just a disease that affects the patient, it impacts entire families. Through such initiatives, we aim to build a healthier and more informed society.”

Participants were provided with free T-shirts, refreshments, and exciting prizes. The event, marked by enthusiasm and compassion, reinforced Yashoda Healthcare’s commitment to social responsibility and women’s wellness.

With the slogan “Ab Swasth Rahegi Har Naari , Yashoda Ne Li Hai Jimmedari”, the Pink Walk 2025 became not just an awareness drive, but a celebration of resilience, hope, and the collective fight against breast cancer.
